Day 4

ok y’all so the more I eat, the more they feed me. Today for breakfast I wanted some fruit, so they gave me half a watermelon, 4 boiled bananas, some beans to eat with the bananas and some ginger. Auntie saw me eating ginger yesterday so she gave me some today too. (Auntie is what they call the women here. Auntie or Mama. I say auntie because I can’t call nobody else mama, Roberta would get upset) Y’all every time I ate something off my plate, Auntie put more food on it . I tried to say no but she told me yes . After I ate watermelon and boiled bananas, she broke out some rice and beans and boiled plantains. Imma be thicka than a snicka when I get back to the states lol. It’s all in love tho. I wasn’t feeling too good because of the change of environment I guess, she is simply trying to take care of me.

Today I experienced my first power outage. I was told is not on uncommon for the power to go out in Ghana. When the power went out I was outside walking and all you’ve heard was “oooh” from everyone. And then you saw all these flashes of light from people using their cell phones to see. This is why they told me to bring a power bank, and I did. What I didn’t do was charge it. Matter of fact I never even took it out of the box it came in. I just threw it in my backpack carryon bag. Bet I’ll keep it charged moving forward won’t I?
