Ghana Dec 2023 - Mar 2024
Day 1
Upon arrival upon landing at the airport the plane started clapping thanking their Creators. That was a nice experience because I have never encountered that on any other flight, Vegas, Atlanta, LA, NYC, anywhere. Not even when there was heavy turbulence lol. So this let me know that I was already onto something new. Deporting the plane was a very easy process. No one jumped up immediately as the plane came to a rolling stop, everyone was patient and in no rush at all. The immigration process was super easy and I do mean super easy. If you were like me, you opted to take the yellow fever shot on arrival because it was only $20USD upon arrival vs the $300USD that I would’ve spent in the states, so I got that done and I was on my way. Now if you remember I said the immigration process is a very easy process right? Well that doesn’t apply to getting your luggage, that’s a different story lol. So I waited for what seemed like eternity and I was able to get my luggage, and it’s not that it’s a long drawn out process, it's just that everybody’s there right at the carousel and it appeared to have not been updated since it was created. So the first thing that I learned was how to have patience. Now to exchange currency is really easy, although they will take any denomination that you have, you get the best rate of return if you have big face hundreds, Plies voice, LOL. Once I did that I was on my way. My friend was there waiting with the Wakanda arms crossed to greet me which made me feel really great, but when he bent down to try to kiss my foot I yanked his ass up like get up! Lol. So they packed up my stuff in the car and we were off. As we drove away from the airport it was amazing to see everyone at every stop trying to sell something: water, fried plantain, bubbles, toys for the kids, sponges, pillows, bread, I just saw live chickens for sale too, LOL. There was no shortage of people trying to make a living. As we drove further there were business owners and entrepreneurs lined heavily down the road reminding me of 63rd & Halsted in Chicago, as well as the fashion district in LA. I guess it’s all around the world the same is all right?
